The concept of this idea came from working with a drummer that used a small 5 channel audio mixer, to sum the stereo click track from a live rig and an electronic drum kit to their IEM (In-Ear-Monitoring) headphones for live on stage. But waned to plug the click/backing track into channel 1 which was a balanced mono input.

But having this handy cable in your live rig bag resolves these types of issues quickly! Also keep them around the studio, for all round handiness as you never know when the situation will arise.

Wiring Note: The adapter is wired stereo at the socket end, and mono balanced at the jack end.
