8way AoC Patchbay - Audio over cat Patchbay 2x banks of 4 XLRs

Designacable.com’s own audio over CAT products offer versatile solutions to sort all your audio and DMX expansion needs. With the benefit of lower costs and compact space saving designs. With our multiple unit designs in the range, we are confident that we have the right solution for you.

Audio over CAT is an analogue solution for getting 4 balanced Mic or Line signals over 1 Cat ethernet cable, which is not to be confused with digital solutions such as Dante. (See *Limitations for details.)

To utilize ‘Audio Over Cat’ you will need three things…

1. Female ‘Satellite’ box or ‘Cat Adapter’
2. Cat network cable or reel
3. Male ‘Satellite’ box or ‘Cat Adapter’ or ‘AoC Patchbay’

*Limitations

• Adapting the XLRs to unbalanced with converters may produce odd sounding results across all channels.
• Only compatible with shielded network cables with an RJ45 or Ethercon connector. They will not work with un-shielded cables. We recommend Van Damme Flexi, featured below.
• These products should not be connected into LAN or ethernet routers or switches!
